https://www.spindirect.com/skin_swap/bugville/images/bugville_main_offer.swfI was watching TV and this commercial came up (as seen above) and I was watching it thinking well this is definitely different and is pretty neat for a little kid. But as the commercial neared the end I felt like the child who would grow these butterflies and would have been there from the very beginning -- caring for these little bugs and got to see the whole process -- probably becomes attached to the butterflies. Then all of a sudden the commercial says: "[after they become butterflies] then just open the door and release them into the wild outside..." Uhh what?
I was thinking WTF... that's kind of a weird thing to do. When I was a kid I had a little box I kept ladybugs and fireflies in. More times than not they died, but it was fun. I think more importantly I started getting a slight understanding that there's a beginning and end to life. I bring this up because I feel like the "let them go into the wild" is because ...put simply... they're gunna die in about ten days after the first ten days of being born. After checking online this is substantiated on several websites that their lifespan can be about 20 days.
I felt well that's not right. I think that this is to prevent a law suit because some family's kid can't deal with the loss of the butterfly and the parents become offended at the very thought and then... BAM law suit. So, they must inform you to release them well in advance of their death just to make sure.
You laugh at the law suit bit that I just made up, but these things happen. And they happen a lot. Remember the guy who sued the catholic church because they can't prove Jesus Christ existed? Ya that one actually made it to court. (http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/anderson.cooper.360/blog/2006/05/how-do-you-prove-jesus-existed.html)
Or how about the ACLU defending these fucking pedophiles suing because their civil liberties have been violated because they aren't allowed to go near a playground when children are present. HELLLOOOOO? WTF are you doing at a playground ANYWAY. (http://annavenger.blogspot.com/2006/06/aclu-defends-pedophiles.html)
My advise, just keep the butterflies. That's a great time to teach children about death because it's on a smaller scale and they can accept that and it mitigates the blow when their favorite animal dies if you can kind of introduce it earlier on like that.
Anyone have different opinions?

Today Jenny and I both have dentists appointments. I'm working from home because she's going to be put out and will not be able to drive home so I'll drive both of us. I scheduled mine around hers so that I wouldn't have to take a day off.Today I am going to be really busy and yesterday I was slammed with work; today will not be any different.

Not that it serves any real purpose other than to share our music eventually, but I was able to successfully add a podcasting section on jennyandjeramiah.com so that you can subscribe via iTunes and listen to all our music or us talking (which still has to be uploaded). In the mean time I just put a track up there for testing.I did this with Wimpy Player if anyone is interested...

This past weekend was relaxing, Pinetop always is. Saturday night was spent saying good-bye to Patrick as he ventured off to basic training for the Army. Sam cooked everyone steaks which were very good. I actually had two steaks. I think that was the first time in my life where I actually ate two New York strips in one sitting....plus beans and corn on the cob. Let's just say I had an OBE as I ate. Then during the day we went to see Jake's game which was fun. They won and it was exciting for Alex and I to try to put the other team of 12 year old boys on full tilt. I explained the power of manipulation later on how to be fully effective at a game you should: play smart, be positive and put the other team on tilt where they get so angry it interferes with their game. Now that's success!
The next day it was cloudy and rained but I really missed that. I love the desert and hot temperatures but sometimes it's nice to see a change. We weren't in it for long because as soon as we got back to Phoenix, it was sunny and hot again.
I'm already starting to get behind on my podcasting of Coast to Coast am. I'm on wed. of last week and it's almost a week later! So during the day I'm going to try to make them up. If anyone else listens... Tuesday of last week was an awesome show; one that I have since added to my "best of cost to coast" playlists.
PEACE OUT.
